Last year, after many coffee cuppings and reformulations, we made a change to the Holiday Blend. We wanted a coffee that appealed to a wide range of coffee tastes, and featured flavor notes that we associate with Christmas.
The feedback was so positive, the only shame was having to wait a year to offer it again!
Ladies and gentlemen, the Holiday Blend is back! Dark roasted Colombian beans that maintain much of their berry sweetness, even as the darker roast adds a smooth smoky flavor. Blended with medium-roasted high-grown Central American beans that add a lively acidity and a natural milk chocolate flavor.
Everything we ship will have been roasted within days of shipment, so you only get the freshest and most flavorful coffee. We ship using USPS Flat Rate, and encourage you to purchase two bags (including mix and match with a different coffee) so that the flat rate $5.70 is divided over two bags instead of one.
Give the gift of Holiday Blend this year, or have some on hand when your coffee drinking friends of discerning palette visit.

It’s our latest blend. A combination of Central American and South American beans. A combination of medium-roasted and dark-roasted beans. A worthy addition to your deis of coffees.
Each of the coffees in this blend is individually roasted to perfection, so that the most potential and flavor is brought out of each one.
From there, we cupped several combinations of these coffees until we found the best blend. That blend is the Celebrity Roast. You can expect a strong aroma that lets people know that good coffee is being brewed, a lively acidity, and sweet flavors of chocolate and spice.
The dark-roasted beans in the blend provide a full body, a distinct taste, and a dark chocolate flavor. The medium-roasted beans provide a lively acidity, a natural berry sweetness, and “spice” that complements the dark beans in the blend.
When you need a mean but good-natured cup of coffee, turn on the Celebrity Roast.
When I first started roasting, I had three coffees: a medium roast, a dark roast, and a premium coffee. I wanted to capture as many coffee preferences as I could with a limited amount of coffees to start.
My philosophy in developing the roast profile of a dark roast coffee was to give the coffee drinker the smoky flavor and full body of a dark roast, without the burnt and bitter flavor that so often accompanies a dark roasted coffee.
That same philosophy is behind our latest offering for the dark roast afficionado…our new Excelso Dark coffee. The key is in the care that goes into attaining the full body and smoky flavor, while properly developing the inner bean and not burning its exterior.
This very versatile Colombia bean features a full body and berry sweetness when roasted medium. When roasted dark, the body becomes even fuller, and the berry sweetness turns into an almost red wine flavor.
We ship by USPS Flat Rate Padded Envelope, so I recommend ordering two bags of coffee (two Excelso Darks, or an Excelso Dark and a different coffee) so that flat rate shipping fee is spread over two bags instead of just one.
If you like dark roasted coffees, here is one with a hint of lively acidity, a sweetness uncharacteristic of dark roasts, and a smoky flavor that isn’t burnt or bitter.
If you don’t like dark roasted coffees, it might be because you haven’t tried this one!
